One of the biggest draws of the Bronner Bros. International Hair Show is an epic, fantasy-filled hair competition. At this year's show, three Southern barbers went toe-to-toe for a $20,000 grand prize and, of course, bragging rights. The competitors go all out for their battle skits, which included elaborate sets, costume changes and backup dancers. BlackVoices was there to capture some of the unbelievable showmanship and chat with a couple of the competitors. Check out our video for more!

The aisles of Bronner Bros. Hair Show were overflowing with vendors selling relaxers, flat irons and shampoos and conditioners, but the vendors who got the most love were definitely the ones selling weaves. Boasting 100 percent human hair, mostly from India or Brazil, these folks were serious about their wares. Black Voices caught up a few experts to see what the fuss was all about.

Forget for one moment that Alicia Keys has been actually stepping out in public with her semi-scandalous boyfriend Swizz Beatz and take a look at the singer's naturally curly locks, which she put on full display at a Gotham magazine party recently.

Do you like Keys' wavy half-up look or do you prefer sleek and straight?

What's up with Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown's obsession with shaving half of her daughters' heads? First it was her toddler Angel, and now her oldest daughter Phoenix Chi has joined the half-bald club. In Mel B's defense, Phoenix is a little older, so it seems like this hairdo was probably more her choice than her mom's. Also, considering Willow Smith's latest 'do, this is clearly the hottest new style for the tween set. But is it an appropriate look for a young girl?

If you hadn't heard of 'Jon & Kate Plus Eight' a few months ago, chances are you've heard of it now. What started out as a lighthearted TLC reality show about Jon and Kate Gosselin and their two sets of multiples -- sextuplets and twins -- has turned into a grisly study of divorce, infidelity and our nation's nasty tabloid culture. The family has fallen apart before America's very eyes. There's one thing, however, that has refused to falter, refused to wilt, refused to budge even an inch in the face of domestic tragedy. That thing is Kate Gosselin signature hairdo.

"Everybody wants it," the mom of eight told Entertainment Weekly in May. " It's work. I have very, very thick hair, so it's not going to work for everybody. ... My stylist gets calls from all across the country."

While Gosselin -- and several entertainment journalists worldwide -- seems to think her hairstyle is a one-of-a-kind, in-demand Gosselin original, I'm going to have to disagree. Very few blonde reality stars might be rockin' the Kate, but it's a style that I've seen black women wearing for years and years. I mean, years. And several black celebrities (see Ciara's new short 'do) have been stepping out in a similar style recently with hardly the same amount of fanfare and publicity.

After the jump, check out some of Gosselin's celebrity hair twins. Who wears it better?

Entertainers like Tina Turner have been performing in a wigs for decades, but the lace front wig, which allows for a natural-looking part in the hair, has really taken black Hollywood by storm. Beyoncé has been the lace front wig's biggest and most famous fan (or offender, depending on how you feel about lace fronts) and has taken flack from bloggers in the past for being snapped with a visible lace or wig glue along her hairline.

Perhaps in response to criticism, Miss Knowles and her famous colleagues have stepped up their wig game. But that doesn't mean they've abandoned the lace front. See if you can spot the wig-loving stars in our gallery.
