And for even LESS breakage stop copying white women's straight hair with stinky chemicals and hotcombs burning your ears and scalp FORCING your hair to straighten and look fake phony and false white then call yourself "pretty" Practice your own natural leave white women's natural alone. We love natural women of color. Black women with her white look holloween costume including contacts is now GHETTO!

Give it a rest. We've all read your rant before. And how many times do I have to tell you, white women are our least concern.

I am sick and tired of people like you going on about how Black women wear their hair. So what if a Black woman straightens her hair, she is still a BLACK WOMAN. However you look at it, deciding to straighten your hair is part of a personal expression and a cultural phenomena; It has nothing to do with how or whether or not a person's merits of being black are rated. If I have a tooth ache and the dentist is wearing a weave I'm not going to tell her that she is not a sistah. Is Maya Angelou any less a brilliant Black woman because her hair is straightened, after many years of wearing it in conrows or an afro? NO. Is Cathy Hughes, owner of TV ONE any less committed to ensuring that the Black community has a Black voice in media because her hair is straight? NO. And is First Lady Michelle Obama any less intelligent and powerful because her hair is straight rather than tightly curled or coiled in the white house? The answer is No. They are all committed Black woman to their ideas and each of these women are something and someone to be very proud of. I could care less if the hair is in dreadlocks down to the ankles, is completely bald, is pressed or weaved up bone straight; Black women look good in all of it. How you dress up your own damn head is your own damn personal business. Maya Angelou will leave a legacy of wisom and powerful reflection behind while you haters will complain and not be able to get over your tired self.

Its funny how the truth about damaging your hair brings out the guilty with ATTITUDE lol you girls are truly funny. I'm just making a true assessment on black women that destroy their own hair for "style" or to be "pretty", But in essence your just fake, If I put water on your head what would happen? We men love real natural women of color, we do you wile your false just to get some. Black women with her hair in a straight false white style will not go swimming or have good sex for fear of sweating back to natural. And we men don't want fake or stuff that comes off in the dark lol Its to the point that women of color follow and copy white women so hard with FORCE you are making black men look at and date white women ...Real straight hair over fake false straight white look hair. We love women of color natural. "High maintence" is because your fake false white hair doo's wear out and you have to make an appointment for a re-doo white doo. And some of these lady's that defend against my OPINION so hard probably own or work in a hair salon and want your white look hair doo to fade out so they can collect more of your little bit of $$$. Personaly I could care less. mess your hair up? "so what"

As a former wig/weave wearer for over 25 yrs- I started in my late teens wearing weaves and moved on to wigs when my money got tight. You are sure nuff telling the truth and it hurts- alot to hear it but it must be told.Ms. Obama , Ms Maya and all other famous and not so famous black women are no less black women(sistahs) but the question is how much MORE they will be once they free themselves from the last vestiges of self hatred/doubt !!!

@ sweeti-me, I'm handsome man of color and tired of black women I talk to or date trying to make me believe her white look wig and funny looking weave with 2 textures of hair showing is her real hair, I know the difference. And women of color with a chemical or hotcomb straight hair doo are not fun because she is scared of messing up her false straight white look hair doo and is always checking her fake white look hair doo in the mirror. So what black women does to her hair affects us black men either by asking the black men to finance a straight white look hair doo or no one is getting good sex for fear of sweating back to natural. Said the real man of color.

i am 17 years old and to be honest, i straightened my hair because it was to thick and curly the only person who could of combed it was my mom and what was she gonna do comb it for the rest of my life. i did not straighten my hair to look "pretty" or to follow "white women".most women do it because of the thickness of the hair and it is obvious that you would know that women of colour have extremely thick hair that is often manageable, i felt pretty then with my thick hair and still feel pretty with my straightened hair which by the way is still thick but not as before abviously so i think it is very disrespectful of you to go on assuming that we as black women straighten our hair because of white women or to look pretty that is absurd you are not a woman so you do not know what we have to go through with our hair so maybe you should put your self in our shoes but im guessing that is hard to do as seeing from your comments your ranting on and on like a little boy and not taking the time to understand what these lovely women have to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
