Anyone who's gone through with the big chop - or any big hair change, for that matter - knows how traumatic it can be. No matter how confident you were in your decision, you lose your hair and start asking yourself:
OhmybabyjesuswhatdidIdo?
Does my head look big?
Do I look like a boy? I look like a boy, don't I?
Why?!?!?!?
The big chop takes some getting used to, especially if you're used to having a lot of hair. So when you feel like wearing a hat semi-permanently or just saying "the hell with it" and getting your hair relaxed, it helps to have something to motivate you. For us, we like having hairspiration. Looking at photos of women rocking their head of curls helps remind us that hair does grow back, no matter how slow the process feels. We love women of color natural and happy in her skin...The natural look is nice on the eyes and has a calming affect. And we want women of color to stop copying white womens hair doo look to be "pretty" it only makes her look fake false and phoney like BOZO the clown.

It is so good to see Black women wearing their own hair. All of this long straight hair is killing me, on the television on the stage, at walmart. They toss their heads like the hair won't come off, it to me look's false.
Some with false hair wear no makeup this to me really looks bad, at least they could put makeup on, but if they would wear their natural hair without makeup they would look natural, the other way look false.

Im growing my natural and am learning sooo much about my hair for the 1st time. I love my hair much more in its natural state and I love seeing other women rock natural styles. We are more beautiful when we embrace our own beauty instead of someone elses idea of beautiful.

Women of color with a cute natural curly hair look better than women of color copying white women's straight stringy hair by far. Curl is women of color's true idenitity, perfect your natural hair. If your hair is coarse then there are ways to losen the curl. Learn how to manage your own hair. FORCING your hair to mimic white woman's hair will destroy your hair. You may wake up and your hair is still on the pillow :O

Ok so after years of wearing afro curl extensions ( I love them sooooo much!) I decided to perm my hair and wear it for a month. Needless to say it's week one and though I like my real hair, I think in less than 1 month I'll be back in the hair shop buying my afro curls, needles and thread!
I can't help it. After over a decade of extensions,(or going semi bald, I did that twice)it has become apart of me and I feel naked without it.
