With spring and summer right around the corner, it's time for us brown beauties to update and refresh our looks.
Whether you're a scoop of caramel cone or a swirl of chocolate, we've found a color for you to dye for!
DROP-DEAD RED

Lovely caramel latte Rihanna has taken a true hair-or-dare risk with these ultra-bright red locks. The color brings our her amazing bone structure and brightens up her skin tone. If you're a caramel diva ready to take a chance, put on your dancing shoes and head straight to the salon to try this out. If you want to achieve this color at home, try Sebastian's Hot Red Cellophane semi-permanent hair color ($39.99, probeautywarehouse.com)

Who says chocolate bunnies can't pull off red? Well, whoever said it clearly hasn't checked the hair credits lately. We're not buying it, and clearly, neither is Estelle. This color works for her complexion because it's deep. The hues are a blue base versus an orange base like Rihanna's, which plays off the deep browns in Estelle's skin tone. DIY this look or have a girlfriend help out. A similar at-home color is Clairol Pro Creme, $5.99, sallybeauty.com.

GOLDEN HORIZONS

We all love Beyonce's color. Whether she has a full head of blonde or sections of hair that frame her face, this diva knows exactly which color works best for her tone. The blonde brings out her olive-y yellow skin base and makes her features pop. To all you light-skinned sisters out there thinking you can't pull this look off in fear of being 'too bright,' we say shine on! Get this look at home with L'Oreal Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Color in 73 Golden Sunset, $9.99, lorealparisusa.com

A deeper yellow base than Beyonce, Chrisette Michelle pulls off this blonde look with a natural twist. Short- and natural-haired chicks get to have more fun with color - not too much worry about damage or breakage. Since the hair is already close to the shaft, it leaves you with more room to play. This color brightens Ms. Michelle's face and makes her look about five years younger... and who wouldn't want that? Try this on your own with Fekkai Salon Color Brush-On Permanent Hair Color in Very Light Blonde, $30, ulta.com.
BROWN BEAUTY

Always one to make a subtle statement, we love the deep brown/red/blonde hair Alicia Keys has going on. The lowlights and highlights give her hair dimension and play well with her undertones. If you want to go all out, do the color and the style all at once. You'll turn plenty of heads your way. For a color like Ms. Keys, try Garnier HerbaShine Color Creme in Mahogany Dark Brown, $8.49, cvs.com.

Meagan Good wears this deep-brown hue well. It gives her a spark of Hollywood glam, makes her features profound and, of course, draws more attention to those luscious kissers. Though Brown might appear to be a 'safe' color, be careful as to the type of brown you choose. This particular color is universal and can play off most complexions, which is why we love it! For a similar color, try Clairol Pro Creme in Rich Neutral Brown, $5.99, sallybeauty.com.
BLACK STALLION

Black is usually the last thing you would think about when it comes to fresh hair color for spring and summer, or a color that works well with brownies. However, black will always be a classic - no matter the season or the complexion. Brandy's jet-black hair palette leaves room to play with makeup, fashion and even jewels, so you can have your bright colors interjected in other ways for the season.
Basketball Wife Jennifer Williams is always primped, and her beautiful black locks never fall flat. Like Brandy, this color works with Jen's complexion and provides her with dimension and flavor. Whether stick-straight or bouncy curls, this budding entrepreneur's hair looks healthy and totally gorg!
You can achieve both of these looks with Dark and Lovely Conditioning Hair Color in Jet Black, $4.49, drugstore.com.
THE RISK TAKER
Now ladies, for kicks and giggles and, of course, a little harmless fun this season, do a Nicki Minaj: throw on a hot-pink, lime green, purple or even two-toned wig and hit the town! But if you're going to go extreme, leave the coloring up to the professionals.

Star Wig, $39.99, rickysnyc.com.

If the color is appropriate for your complexion, I see nothing wrong with rocking it. However for the sistahs who are natural please don't over do it with the chemicals, as to much chemicals can leave you bald. For the weave rockers you too need to give your scalps a break as I have seen the edges of some weave wearers and it's not pretty.

Why do black women copy white womans hair look with chemicals white look wigs and funny looking weaves and hot hot hotcombs It makes black women look crazy funny like BOZO the clown, We love women of color close to natural happy in her skin, What message you giving the little girls of color? The little girls copy that phoney fake white look and look older than her age and end up with 5 or more baby daddys then your a grandmother at 30. Women of color look better with some curl. White people are laughing at you not with you. That straight no life dead stringy white look on a black woman don't fit her texture. Find your own idenitity, Black women have no idenitity so they copy other races hair then calls herself "pretty" WTF! I bet if I told black women that cat is in style she would wear her cat on top of her head to the club thinking she is "pretty" Lil Kims looks are more frightening than cute, And Serena Williams under a blond wig... Role model??? And I bet Latoya Jackson can open cans with her nose, And WTF is Wendy Williams? Also Tyra Banks looks like a white girl thats been in the tanning salon tooo long. What is a woman of color?

This poster is obvious ignorant to the versitility of black women, their hair and styles. The fact is that nobody has to copy anyone. There are only so many colors (that the human eye can see), and so many styles to wear. We Black women just happen to hair hair so versitile that we can do just about anything we want with our hair. It's not about trying to be something you are not. Believe me, if other races could copy the many styles and ways we can wear our hair, they would.

Black women are soooo fake and phoney they play holloween everyday on a regular basis because black women hates what God gave her... Listen stupid black women stop making excuses to copy other races hair look to be "pretty" If you keep messing with what God gave you and it will fall out around the ears like Naomi Cambell. Lil Kims looks are more frightening than cute. You making white people happy that you want their hair and white people laughing at you wile you hate your own hair... Walking around with fake phoney plastic looking white look hair doo up on top of your head makes white people snicker or lol like on Jerry Springer then Jerry picks the fake white look up off his stage like its a dead animal and throw it into the audience wile all the white people laugh at the black woman wile she makes a fool of herself. The same reason white women get lip injections, boob jobs and butt implants, stupid ass. Who are you trying to look like? Black hair is very versatile and so are black women. We can do what we want to with our hair. It's strong and vibrant, and if sistahs want to wear a weave or a wig, it's a free country. Nobody is trying to look like flat assed, skinny legged, flat, dull and lifeless hair others. : ) Have a Great Day!

Black women are so mixed from slave owners they look different but women of color nd black women are still haters of themselves and wish to have white womens hair so they hotcomb the HELL out of her head among other things including chemicals just to copy white womans hair, black women were not born with white look hair, And black women have NO idenitity so she colors and white look her hair and wear white look wigs funny looking weaves with 2 textures of hair showing Then black women pop in those ugly contacts thinking she looks white then calls herself "pretty" hanging all that unessary extra equipment off herself to be fake phoney "pretty" WE DON"T CARE WHAT WHITE PEOPLE DO OR DON"T DO TO THEMSELVES STOP COMPARING BLACK WOMEN WITH WHITE WOMEN YOU CAN NEVER BE WHITE NOT EVEN WITH YOUR FAKE WHITE HAIR DOO. Natural women of color is beautiful, And if you thinks white women want to look like black women ...so what! let them look beautiful if they want, But black women look like BOZO the clown copying white women and other races in the name of "pretty" You can meet a black woman take her home then when she peels off all that fake white shyt you be like dayum you not the same person I met put your fake white look back on till I finish hitting it then get the fuk out. lol ... One day I walked up behind a BIG butt white girl looked her in the face and she is black WTF!. Black women are the only women who copy women of other races to be "pretty" Black women spend $$$$ in the white look hair store but have no $$$$ to feed all their kids... with 5 or more baby daddys who are bums. copy cat fools!

The best hair color for your complexion is the one you was born with. Nature knows best. If you have a lot of melanin in your skin then you most likely will have a lot of melanin and keratin in your hair. If you are a albino then you will probabley have yellow hair that matches your skin. If you are suffering from leprosy then your may also turn yellow as stated in the bible the book of numbers.
