Mary J Blige Hair Transformation
Curl Power: Flying from the massive success of her first album, What's the 411?, Mary rocks cute curls as she cleans up at the 7th Annual Soul Train Music Awards in 1993.

Flipping Out: Known now for always being a glam songstress, Mary didn't always have the best fashion sense back in the day. But she never left the house without a new 'do! Here she is on stage with a Gidget-esque flip.

Bejeweled: In town for an entertainment complex opening in her native New York City, Mary dons an interesting, ornate headdress around a red, curly updo.

Disco Queen: This is probably the first (and one of the shortest) of many feathered 'dos from Ms. Blige. Combined with the gold lame halter dress, she could easily be mistaken for a 70s party girl!

Pump Up the Volume: At the 2001 VH1 Divas Live show, Mary added some volume to her normally sleek looks to bring out her true inner Diva for her performance alongside Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

Cutting Edge: At the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, the younger, funkier side of music awards shows, Mary steps onto the red carpet with an edgy, uneven bob that can only be pulled off by the diva herself.

Going Platinum: Much like her first eight albums, Mary goes ultra platinum (blonde, that is) and spiky-short at an awards show.

Uptown Chic: At the Bottega Veneta flagship store opening in NYC, Mary toned down the cut and color and opted for a chic side pony and all-black outfit.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: While everyone attending had Georgia on their mind, Mary had Los Angeles on her mind. At an event for Ray Charles in 2004, the singer channeled Marilyn Monroe and sported voluminous blond curls.
Mary J Blige Hair Transformation
Greek Goddess: It seems like Mary finally found a glam updo that she could stick with for a while, as this is the first of many pretty braided updos that she was seen rocking on the red carpet. It works!

Hmmmmmm, what I noticed most is that, from pic one to pic 13 Mary's skin complexion has gone from darkskin to lightskin. Save the bullsh*t response because I was born and raise in Yonkers NY, and I know what complexion Mary was. She's even lighter than Tonya and Cora now.

the thing about Mary J is that no matter what hairstyle she wears, it fits her and her makeup is always impeccable too.

This is for Yonkernite: I think Mary may have lightened up her skin through the years, because her skin was bad as a teenager but why would she lighten up her skin? That makes no sense to me. I don't like the colored contact lens! Mary is very pretty. She doesn't need to change the oclor of her eyes in any way. Mentioning Mary's mom and sister, I never hear her talk about them anymore. Her sister Latonya was once her manager and they were very close. What heppened to her sister and mom by the way?

Tonya still lives in Yonkers. I think Cora live in a nearby town/village. I don't know what happened between her and Tonya. I tell you one thing. I have known them since they were kids and Tonya is a muuuuuuuuch better singer than Mary. But as for her complexion, I don't recall her ever having bad skin again, I have know her since Schobloms Housing projects on Schroder St.

Jet straight white look on a woman of color looks CRAZY fake white. We love our women of color with curl. Black women copy white women sooo hard we black men are now looking at and dating white women may as well get a real white women over a fake white black women. Black women have no idenitity and white people laughing at you not with you, They know black women hates herself and wishes to have white womans hair. fools

You are just stupid, don't justify why you want to date white women. Be a man. You are just stupid.
