Well hello, Lloyd!
The R&B crooner known as "Mr. Long Hair Don't Care" made a dramatic change to his look today, and revealed it all on Twitter.
"The R&B star, who began growing his hair over 10 years ago, felt like it was time for a change, and time to give back, "I've been growing my hair since 9th grade. It's time for a new me." said Lloyd. He went on to say, "The fact that my hair will go to someone that needs it more than me, makes me feel great about my decision."
Lloyd has always been an avid supporter of non-profit charity work, especially when his efforts go toward benefiting children in need. Non-profit organization Locks of Love will use Lloyd's donated hair to provide a hair piece for a financially disadvantaged child (under age 21) suffering from long-term medical hair loss. The organization was happy to work with Lloyd, and both parties hope that their partnership will inspire others to donate.
Mahogany Wright, Lloyd's long time hair braider gave the artist one final braid, then did the honors of cutting off the 12 inch lock of hair. Moments before, Lloyd had this to say, "I'm doing this for me. I feel like it's time for a change and now is the perfect time." Lloyd's childhood barber, known simply as "Parker The Barber', who was the last person to cut his hair when he was just 14, finished the job by giving the artist a fresh new look. After his cut, Lloyd simply stated, "I feel liberated."
Close-Cropped Celebs!
Angel Murphy, the daughter of Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown and Eddie Murphy, showed off her Mohawk on an outing with her mother and step dad, Stephen Belafonte. Did Mel B.'s bald husband inspire her to cut her daughter's hair?
After being snapped by paparazzi last week, Solange Knowles was shocked by the backlash from fans. On her Twitter page, she wrote, "i. just. wanted. to. be. free. from. the. bondage. that. black. women sometimes. put. on. themselves. with. hair."
Bald is beautiful! Just ask Sudan-born supermodel Alek Wek, who has been rockin' the baldie since she first stepped onto the runway in the '90s.
A few months ago, most people would be saying "Amber who?" Now, Kanye's girlfriend, Amber Rose, has a contract with Ford Models and a permanent spot in the gossip blogs. Her edgy and barely-there hair might have something to do with it.
Never one to shy away from a bold and edgy look, Rihanna is the latest in a long line of young celebrities to embrace, or at least partially embrace, the bald.
If singer Cassie was looking for publicity when she shaved a portion of her head, she got it! Blogs were abuzz about the pretty artist's new half-buzz cut.
After giving props to Cassie for her new look, La La Vasquez followed suit with a more subtle version.
'G.I. Jane,' the movie for which Demi Moore cut off all her hair, flopped, but the resulting style didn't! Her hair, or lack thereof, became a hot red-carpet accessory.
Sometimes going bald is not so much a fashion statement as it is a statement of insanity. Case in point: Britney Spears, whose bald head signaled a highly publicized mental breakdown.
A hair chameleon, Erykah Badu has gone from huge headwraps to long dreads to wild afros. This look was just one on her long list of creative looks.

New look, just in time for a new album. Lloyd has been working on his fourth studio album and Zone 4/Interscope debut, 'King of Hearts,' and his new single 'Lay It Down' is getting heavy rotation on urban radio.
Lloyd looks great, and we applaud the reasons for the new look! But we know some of his fans will miss those signature locks.
So what say you, ladies? Are you feeling Lloyd's haircut, or not?

Sorry...Never heard of him before. But I do like him now. That was extremely generous of him to donate his hair.
Wishing him much success in the future.

CeeCee, I have heard of Lloyd since he came out, but I think your stretching the fact that he is, "Well known". He's not unknown but, "well known" I don't think so.
But in response to the article, When I first saw him and he had that long hair I would say to myself, "damn he would be better to look at if he cut that damn hair". And you know what I was right!!! HeHE!
But big-ups to the Locks of Love donation...I tried to give my dreds, They dont take them. Doesn't that sound good to ya'll, "I just received donated sista locks" hehe!!

I never heard of him, but thank God he found a cause to cut off those girlie braids and look like a real man, even though he appears to be a homosexual. I have had it with black men trying to out feminizing women and spending more time in the beauty parlor than women. They seem to be doing everything to not look like men and wearing their pants down looking like homo-erotic ready for sex any where any time like hot in the pants prostitutes on the stroll. These males have lost all concepts of what a man is and how to represent. Real black manhood is in big time trouble.
As a business owner I do not hire any black males with braids and wouldn't hire white males with long hair. They do not represent the image I want for my business I don't care if they were straight "A" students out of Harvard with a PHD. Image is everything and that is something that black males better accepted when applying for a job. They will be judge by it first and foremost in the business world. Many black men are not getting jobs because of how they present themselves.
A black man came to my business to apply for a job and even though he was qualified he lost out for consideration because even though he wore a suit and tie while he was waiting to be interviewed he sat with a hat on his head in the waiting room. This is a big no-no and my receptionist informed me before I saw him. He should have never kept his hat on while waiting. That said something about his respect for proper job decorum. If black men want to be themselves then open their own businesses and go for it. They can wear what they want too but not on someone else job that calls for a certain dress code.

people like you need to open your mind. this world has changed from the father knows best and leave it to beaver days. as an artist/entertainer lloyd did'nt have to do anything to his hair. but you mean to tell me that you dissed a brother for a job because of a hat. y did'nt your receptionist just tell him to take it off, i'm sure he would of. but your description remind me of hattie mcdaniel shooing the black limo driver out of the kitchen. very old school very uncle tomish

Agree with Mr.Anderson 100%. This sissy look is holding black men out of the job market more than they think. Better man up or stay unemployed/ underemployed.
