Of course, with more than 200,000 women coming through the convention center during the three-day weekend, there were enough hairstyles to fill up a few hair magazines. Sisters were doing it up!

I know my comment about black women wearing their hair blond, is not going to get none of the sisters attention. The statement is blond the new black, was like hearing gay the new black man, if ever,. in this world black people have lost their mind. First of all let's understand what beauty is, it is natural, not fake, like nails, hair, skin color, eye lashes, etc. when these black women put on all this mess, it make them look like fools, please women, stop making yourself look stupid, no matter what your hairdresser has told you, how good you look, she/he is lying through their teeth to you. Why you want to change what god gave you? To be honest, you hate what God gave you, because you want to look like someone else, why? Stop lying about putting relaxers in your hair, or your child hair, to make it more manageable, that is a lie, their are other things you can use to do that. People who are not laughing at black women, they feel sorry for you, because you do not like yourself, you need mental health, not weaves, and blond hair. Mary J., and Kisha Cole, people are lying to you. And always talking about God, he ain't listening to you, you are not real.

honey, i totally agree w/ you!!! black woman are so stupid (yes, i'm black!!!) for putting all these harsh chemicals in their hair. and they wonder why they are going bald at the age of forty. whites have studied us from the days of slavery. do you not know that our hair grows faster, longer, and stronger than whites w/o all of that mess. i personally have my hair natural: a fro! and if i decide to wear weaves or color (which is hardly ever), i will have my hair braided to wear the mess. on the real tip, i prefer my natural look anyday. you can't get any real that that... i have a page on a dating site; in my default photo im wearing my nat-u-ral... the guys hit me up telling me how beautiful i am, and they prefer a woman w/ the natural look. which is funny. b/c at first, i was skeptical they would say, it reflects me being a "strong black woman"... one thing about having this kind of texture is the versatility (misspelled). you can do so many stles that comes to mind that you just can not do w/ those white girls mess that you sistas have embraced over your own. i will be so glad when sistas in america wake up and realize that we are the true beauty; among our descendant (puerto ricans, cubans, dominicans...etc) we do not need to try and be like someone that have taught us to loathe ourselves, but at the same token, they try so hard to be like us!... i will not trade my natural locks for another perm, relaxer that is designed to take your hair out in the process... again, as i mention, if i decide to wear my hair straight... i'll put the hot comb to use. which is 1 times out 10.

I am a black woman. I appreciate when other black women want to wear their hair natural, but you and these other judgmental folks on here need to take a few steps back when you talk about those who don't choose to. If I want to wear weave, dye, a relaxer, etc. that's my business; not yours. I'm a very happy, confident, God-fearing black woman and I cannot STAND it when people like you try to decide how black people should look, think, act, etc. Every woman should learn to be confident and strong. Since we are all different, then we are all going to find a different way to express that confidence. I look to please GOD, my HUSBAND, and MYSELF. If those three criteria have been met, then you and everyone else who don't like it can kick rocks.

Speaking of looking like fools, your grammar could use a little punching up. Check yourself before criticizing others.

what i don't understand is why is people's personal preference about their hair so important to you? if your so happy w/your natural hair than kudos 2 you but because you found your way back 2 your roots that doesn't mean you should go around and now judge everyone else who hasn't.
My hair is natural but guess what I like weaves.. Hell i love them. I use them 4 different textures, lengths, and of course the latest styles. My hair doesn't grow fast enough to do everything that I want 2 do to my hair. I keep my natural hair in braids and get my hair done in a weave. I haven't found the right products yet to where i would feel comfortable wearing my hair out and i'm sure many other AA females feel the same. We are inventors of style and white ppl envy that. They are not smarter and their hair does not look better. They wish they could achieve the many styles we rock.
what you need 2 do is stop JUDGING everyone else and worry about your own mane.

Black Beauty is different from White Beauty. That is why black women need not look for white women or the white media to influence what would be beautiful on a black woman such as Caucasian styled wigs and blonde hair to look beautiful.

FIRST OF ALL I LOVE MY FAKE HAIR CAUSE I AM VERY ATTRACTIVE WITH IT AND I LOVE MY MAKE UP AND MY FALSE NAILS ALL OF WHICH COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER.I HAVE BEEN THIS WAY SINCE I WAS 13 AND FOR ME THAT IS NATURAL I AM FLY AND I CAN AFFORD TO DO IT. AND I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING.WHAT MAKES ME NOT PAY ATTENTION TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU!! IS OTHER GOOD LOOKING PEOPLE WHO TELL ME HOW BEAUTIFUL I LOOK EVERYDAY!! AND GUESS WHAT MOST OF THEM ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT WEARING ANY OF THE STUFF I DO BUT THEY ADMIRE IT ANYWAY BECAUSE LIKE MANY OTHER WOMEN WE ARE SO GOOD AT IT.NOW THEY WILL ADMIT THEY CANT MANAGE THE LOOK I HAVE BUT THEY LOVE HOW I WORK IT.AND YES MY HAIR IS BLONDE AND AND I HAVE NATURAL PEOPLE STOP ME I MEAN STOP ME!! TO TELL ME I REALLY LOOK GOOD AND MY LOOK FITS ME BECUSE I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING. AND I DO IT VERY VERY WELL AND YES I PUT ALOT OF NATURAL WOMEN TO SHAME BECAUSE SOME OF YOU NEED TO DO MORE WITH YOURSELVES. BESIDES I AM REALLY ALREADY VERY VERY NICE LOOKING SO I JUST ENHANCE THE HAIR THE MAKEUP AND NAILS ALONG WITH MY FLY OUTFITS AND MY LADY LIKE SWAGGER. AND AGAIN NO MY HAIR CANT GROW LONG BUT I CAN AFFORD TO DO IT THAT WAY. AND I CANT GROW LONG NAILS BUT I CAN AFFORD TO PUT THEM ON.SO WHEN YOU TRY TO SAY BLACK WOMEN ARE STUPID OR AND WE NEED TO STOP NO YOU NEED TO GO KICK YOUR SELF WHEN YOU PASS SOME ONE LIKE ME CAUSE I AM NOT NO AVERAGE LOOKING CHIC AND I'VE ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY AND I AM PROUD OF IT!!! I THANK GOD FOR THE GIVING ME THE GIFT TO WORK MY CRAFT TO PROFECTION AND TRUST ME I BET HALF OF YOU TALKING NEGATIVE ABOUT WOMEN LIKE ME LOOK LIKE AFRICAN SPEAR CHUKKAS.AND YOU NEED TO STOP BECAUSE MEN OF ALL NATIONALITY'S LIKE ME STOP ME AND TRY TO DATE ME . AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT SOME OF THEM BE MUSLIM BLACK MEN. SO WHEN YOU SAY BLACK MEN TELL YOU THEY LIKE YOU NATURAL AND THEY DONT LIKE WOMEN WITH FAKE HAIR OR MAKEUP WELL MOST OF THE SAME MEN ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE FELT THAT WAY BEFORE BUT THEY ADMIRE MY BEAUTY JUST AS MUCH. SO DONT GET IT TWISTED SOME OF YOU NEED TO STAY NATURAL AND IN YOUR LANE BUT DONT HATE CAUSE SOME OF CAN DO BOTH LANES AND DO IT VERY VERY WELL.SO STOP HATTING AND GIVE CREDIT TO THE ONES WHO DESERVE IT!!!
