It's hard to think of a celebrity more brave, more beautiful and more delightfully comfortable in her own skin than Jill Scott.
From the moment her first song dropped -- the unforgettable 'Getting in the Way' -- she set a new standard. Here was a sista who remained classy but wasn't afraid to be sassy. For the most part, Jill has worn her hair in a curly, natural style -- the video for My Love was a notable exception.
This weekend at the NAACP Awards, she made her glorious return to the red carpet -- and to the stage. I personally loved her cornrows paired with a flowing mane of kinky hair. I thought she looked stunning on the red carpet in that sexy, slinky navy Tadashi Shoji dress.
But I gotta admit, I didn't exactly love the look she wore on stage for her performance of 'Hear My Call.' The shiny satin leopard dress wasn't a fashion decision I'd make, but I applaud her for always being true to herself.
What are your thoughts on Jilly from Philly's glorious come back? Are you as psyched for her upcoming tour with Maxwell as I am? And furthermore, what of the mane? Braided front (though they were a bit tight) and Diana Ross-esque back? Is it too much or a perfect fit? Do tell.

Jill Scott was looking good on the Image Awards, got to give it up to a sister. She just look like she is in a good place, and just radiating positive energy.
I love the hairstyle, it really fits her face, and she got it.

SHE MAKES ME HAVE MORE CONFIDENCE. I RECENTLY SAW HER ON THE MONIQUE SHOW AND SHE SEEMS SO HUMBLE AND DOWN TO EARTH.this is a good post.

I think Jill's hair is great. It suits her facial structure, which a lot of people don't take into concideration when they choose a hair style, but for her it looks wonderful. I think the braids are a little too tight, but I believe thats common when you first have it done, and it loosens up a little afterwards. So thumbs up from me, You Go Girl.
