It's hard to think of a celebrity more brave, more beautiful and more delightfully comfortable in her own skin than Jill Scott.
From the moment her first song dropped -- the unforgettable 'Getting in the Way' -- she set a new standard. Here was a sista who remained classy but wasn't afraid to be sassy. For the most part, Jill has worn her hair in a curly, natural style -- the video for My Love was a notable exception.
This weekend at the NAACP Awards, she made her glorious return to the red carpet -- and to the stage. I personally loved her cornrows paired with a flowing mane of kinky hair. I thought she looked stunning on the red carpet in that sexy, slinky navy Tadashi Shoji dress.
But I gotta admit, I didn't exactly love the look she wore on stage for her performance of 'Hear My Call.' The shiny satin leopard dress wasn't a fashion decision I'd make, but I applaud her for always being true to herself.

What are your thoughts on Jilly from Philly's glorious come back? Are you as psyched for her upcoming tour with Maxwell as I am? And furthermore, what of the mane? Braided front (though they were a bit tight) and Diana Ross-esque back? Is it too much or a perfect fit? Do tell.

Jill Scott looks FANTASTIC this baby did wonders for her all the way around. The weight lost, the new style of dressing, it took her to another level......for the BEST!
She is without a doubt a beautiful person to start off with but, having that baby and the "NEW" love in her life ......it WORKS!
Jill Scott......YOU ROCK GIRL!

The hair style suits her and she is used to having so much hair. For me, I wouldn't know what to do with it.

When I first saw her with the new hairstyle I had to do a doubletake - she has a pretty face to begin with, but the new 'do' really accentuates her beauty. I love it!

I am glad I came across this artical because I actually just posted a blog on my site about women and their hair. I acutally like her hair, although I think big hair on larger women may make them look a little larger. But Jill looks good in her hairdo.. I believe she is an artist that does stay true to who she is. I believe the same Jill you see on the stage is the same Jill you will see if you were chilling with her in your living room. Go get it Jill, do your thing!

Jill Scott is a beautiful person outside and seems to be equally beautiful inside based on the lyrics she writes, her honesty and positive vibe. It is her inner beauty that shines through so I cannot imagine there is anything she could do to make herself physically unattractive. Why people have referred to her size baffles me. It takes all races, sizes and types of people to make an interesting world! Her hair looks fabulous! I wish her continued success and blessings.
