I'm not one to gossip, so you didn't hear it from me. But over the weekend, the Internet was abuzz over one little girl with a very grown-up hairstyle.
Nine-year-old cutie Willow Smith accompanied her famous parents to Norway, where the family performed for the Nobel Peace Prize concert. And although her brother Jaden's mop of curls got lots of attention, Willow's half-shaved Rihanna-esque haircut stole the show.
Here on BV Hair Talk, we strive to cover all things hair-related and hair-raising, but kids are generally off limits. We extend the same courtesy to little Willow as we do to Zahara Jolie Pitt , Malia and Sasha Obama, or any other celebrity child of color coming up in the spotlight -- let a kid be a kid. Willow is clearly feeling herself and loving the hairdo.

But having said that, my mama wouldn't have let me get that haircut at age 9, no matter how much I begged. So inquiring minds want know. Dear readers, is a style like this appropriate for a little one? Is this cute and fun or much too much for a girl? What do you think?

the haircut is too grown up for a 9 year old and by the pic it makes her ear look big. some hair styles don't look good on some people and some people have to be careful of the hair style they pick because of their ears or some facial features.

I guess growing up in the late 60's early 70's had a lot to do with my opinion on this cuz I was told how to wear my hair until I was 18> (Then they couldn't really say anything anymore). Now, I guess being 50 plus I wear my hair a little long in the rebellion that I wasn't allowed earlier!!!!!

It looks good because she is finally wearing her own hair. Actually Willow's hair has grown quite a bit. Before it was above her ears. Jada had weave put in probably to cover Willow's ears. Jada herself wears a lot of weave. I'm glad she's encouraging her daughter to be natural. To me, most women look better with their own hair. Wigs and weave are okay at times, but longterm, they cannot be good for you scalp, therefore your health.

Cliff and Clair Huxstable wouldn't have allowed it...Therefore the answer is no..

I am more concerned about the fact that there are people in this world who would base their decisions on what two fictional characters would do than I am about a nine year old's hair cut. Clair and Ciff Huxtable???? OMG! Get a life! Read the Bible. Base your decision on something more substantial than a defunct television show's fictional characters whose views are truly that of their script writers and directors anyway.
The child's hair is fine in my book. And what's this about children being off limits?

It's a haircut!! It's not changing my life any. And its just hair, it'll grow back. Let the girl have some fun, Jada and Will are fine with it.
