Thanksgiving is officially over, which means that Christmas is revving its engine. And between the two, you've got some hot holiday parties to attend. Maybe you've got your season of dresses all planned out - but have you thought about the hair? Tis the season to adorn your 'do with festive and fun hair accessories!

Here are some of my faves -- all handcrafted and available on Etsy!
No lie, ladies. Every single time I wear my flower by Ododo Originals, I get raves, compliments, and OMG-where'd-you-get-that-I-want-one. It never fails. Ododo means "flower," and these flowers never go out of season. And they're specially made to grip just as well on stick straight hair or thick natural hair. Score!

For another spin on the fun, feminine, flower-in-your-hair look, there's Boutique De Bandeaux, purveyor of tres chic, bright, and eye catching floral accessories. My personal fave is the La Lyceenne - a khaki Tartan rose that would look so fabulous with a trench coat. C'est magnifique!

Feathered headbands are super trendy right now and with good reason -- there's something simultaneously retro and modern about feathers. They come in the most luxurious gem colors, and really jazz up a winter wardrobe. Sweet Grass Mill on Etsy has an amazing selection of bold, bright, beautiful feathered headbands that range from $15 to $35. From peacock to "fire pheasant," there's adornment to match your every outfit.
Like what you see? Seen anything cuter elsewhere? Let a bella know, I'm always looking for a unique way to dress my tresses!

I am blessed with long beautiful hair. I keep my hair in its natural state re: LOCKS.Personally, I don't understand the need to have straight flaxen hair unless you were borm with it. Each to his/her owm. I am American Indian/African American and my hair is a combo of my heritage. My LOCKs anot straight nor kinky curly, they are are my heritage and I wear them with honor and pride. Truely, we as Black people should ware our heritage with pride and not disgrace re: the texture or length of our hair. Why aren't we proud and beautiful people, excepting all the beautify we are born with? We should be excepting who we are and the physcial beauty we are most definitely blessed with, including the mane we were born with.

I finally have found the perfect products for my daughters kinky "natural" beautiful hair. My daughter used to have horrible dandruff. And all the store bought grease, lotion, and various potions only sat on her dry scalp and made the dandruff worst. After trying Selsum Blue for a while, which did cut down on the flakes, I just did not like the idea of using such chemicals on her scalp for a prolonged period. In fact, all of the shampoos on the market have similiar if not the same chemicals (check out the labels, even baby shampoo). So, after mcuh research, I decided to use natural products on her hair, and the results are simply BEAUTIFUL and my daughter loves getting her hair washed and combed, and just can't stay away from the mirror. I now shampoo my daughter's hair with peppermint castille soap..she loves the smell of the peppermint and the cool feel it gives to her scalp, and it has no added chemicals. I also use a apple cider vinegar and water rinse on her hair after I wash and condition it. The rinse got rid of the dandriff the very first time I used it. Sometimes I buy fresh rosemary herbs, boil, and add the liquid to the vinegar and water, smells heavenly. The apple cider vinegar rinse also gives my daughter's hair a high gloss shines, makes it thicker, and it has grown soo much in he 2 months that I have been using these products. After the vinergar rinse, I just put a little olive oil on her scalp and braid. I stopped cornrowing her hair and just loosely braids it. Although I do use the olive oil chloresterol conditioner, I am working on creating a natural conditioner for my daughters hair too. I also started washing my daughter's hair every 3 days instead of once a week. I have finally found what works for my daughter's natural hair...her hair is just beautiful, soft and managable, no crying, no fuss...light and fluff...my daughter said, "thank you mommy."
