Ah, Halloween. A time to stuff your face with candy and get dressed up in a crazy costume. And every year, the day after Halloween there are celebrity photos that make you wonder -- what the hell were they thinking?
This year's case study, Mel B. These days, the only thing "scary" about this former Spice Girl is what she's done to her little girl's hair. Check out the Spice Girl and her family on Black Celebrity Kids.

Look closely at little Angel Iris' hair. Yes, that's a mohawk. Yes, her hair is completely shaved on the sides. And I am sincerely hoping that her hair is straight because of heat, and not from chemicals.
And please note her haircut has absolutely nothing to do with Elmo. Even if this child was dressed as a punk rocker, I still couldn't condone shaving a 2 year old's head just for the sake of Halloween.
I don't mean to give Mel B the Allison Samuels treatment - I do believe she's being a good mother to her daughter by taking her out to the pony ranch for Halloween. They really do look like a happy family. But when it comes to the hair, I gotta ask. Why?
What are your thoughts on this little girl's hair?

For some reason I believe she did that to her daughter's hair out of spite for Eddie. Whatever her motivation was, it's not an appropriate style for a young girl that can barley spell her name yet. Mel B is an opportunist who popped out a rich man's baby-and now the child support checks alone support her entire household-what does her husband do again besides look gay most of the time?

I think this is crazy! There is no need for this beautiful little girl to have her hair like this. I hope the next time I see this little girl her hair is not like this.

It looks bad to me and after viewing the pictures in the link it looks thin like a bad perm.
BUT...she's a child, and like you mentioned before let's leave the little ones out of it. I hate to see parents do what (I think) are weird things to the children's appearance, but I think you said it best when it comes to children and their style: "Why is it our business?"

Stop tripping over the child's hair. It will grow back. The child is too young to be "scarred" from wearing a mohawk. As long as the child feels loved, she will develop normally, be secure and emotionally healthy.
Please don't invoke Eddie "missing in action" Murphy. Mel B was rich long before Eddie Murphy came in the picture and he left her pregnant, denied paternity (until a court ordered blood test showed otherwise) when he thought he had a chance with -- what's her name --a real gold digger, Baby Face's ex-wife.
Mel B is doing just fine, children and all.

He didnt deny paternity for no reason; he obviously didnt believe the baby was his. Look at how quickly she got married after being oh so in love with Eddie..he probably knew she was loose & didnt believe he was the only one she was sleeping with. She's no saint-she trapped him.

"Even if this child was dressed as a punk rocker, I still couldn't condone shaving a 2 year old's head just for the sake of Halloween."
With all due respect, FYI Mel B's daughter's hair has been cut in a mohawk for months now--this isn't the first sighting of her hair this way.
Mel isn't harming her kid in any way by shaving it off. It'll grow back--it's just hair. I doubt that she chemically processed her toddler's hair--her older daughter is a natural, too. Funky haircut or not, Angel is a beautiful child. Who cares.
It's amazing that Mel's mothering skills are even a topic of discussion, just because she plays around with her own child's hair. People need to stop worrying about how others raise their own children, particularly in harmless situations as this.

@Diva1,
I'm very much Black--Caribbean-American, to be exact. What about my comment (and personal opinion, which I am entitled to, by the way) would make you insinuate that I "MUST BE WHITE"?
