Confession: I've always, always wanted to go to the Bronner Brothers Hair Show. Long before Chris Rock and Nelson George committed it to film in their documentary Good Hair, the show had piqued my interest for its innovation. Check this video out.
I mean, come on! How awesome would it be to witness this kind of artistry in person?
Sadly I won't be there this year, but if you live in the ATL area, you can. The world famous Bronner Bros. International Hair Show will be taking place this weekend, Aug. 15-18, in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center.
There'll be more than 60,000 hairstylists, exhibitors, distributors and cosmetology students celebrity appearances by Chris Rock, Al Sharpton and Nia Long. Marcia A. Cole, founder and editorial director of Ambermag, will present an informative and interesting panel, titled Styling Beyond the Chair: How to Break Into Magazines, Advertising, and Celebrity Styling.
In addition, there will be a comedy show featuring host JJ and the Young Giants of Comedy, and the showdown to end all showdowns -- the Hair Battle Royale competition, sponsored by Ford Motor Company. Contestants compete for $20,000 and a newly designed 2010 Ford Taurus.

Please take a moment to check out my documentary film BLACK HAIR
It is free at youtube. 6 parts including an update from London, England.
It explores the Korean Take-over of the Black Beauty Supply and Hair biz..
The current situation makes it hard to believe that Madame C.J. Walker once ran the whole thing.
I am not a hater, I am a motivator.
Plus I am a White guy who stumbled upon this, and felt it was so wrong I had to make a film about it.
self-funded film, made from the heart.
Can it be taken back?

I worked the Bronner Bros show for Clairol. I also worked the show back in February. The August show was greatly "scaled down". Less variety of vendors due to the economy, but overall still a good show.
The high point was hearing Chris Rock & Nia Long discuss his documentary "Good Hair"
Please watch my comedic video called "Hair Wars"
