While American men spend huge amounts of their hard-earned money in the often-futile quest of preventing baldness, some famous female celebrities are breaking out the razors and going either fully or partially bald. Most recently, Solange Knowles came under fire from some of her more conservative fans after she showed off her closely cropped 'do on the street last week.
Even babies are getting in on the trend. Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown recently gave Angel Murphy, her daughter with Eddie Murphy, an edgy Mohawk. But you know how they say fashion is cyclical? Mohawks have been around for decades, and women like Grace Jones have been rockin' a fierce bald head since before razor-happy stars like Solange, Cassie and Rihanna were born.
Click through our photo gallery to see some of the famous ladies (and kids) who have made bald beautiful over the years.

My fiancee is low-cut, and when we are making love, and I began to rub her head, I get extra "Horny" and "Freaky".

Solange looks BEAUTIFUL!
GET OVER IT!!!
Black women have always worn their hair short & natural. We have gotten spoiled by weaves and wigs.
Any man in his right mind & who has eyes can appreciate a sistah with natural hair if she is beautiful and takes care of herself. 'Cmon, Erykah Badu, Alec Wek, Halle Berry have NEVER looked like men with short cropped hair.
If a woman grows her hair long, great. If she chooses to cut if, so be it. Stop tryin' to make us all adopt a white man (& woman's) standard of beauty.
Don't you all remember (if not read a history book) the "I'm black and I'm proud" time period. Stand up and be proud and supportive of women that look like you.
Geez, are you really gonna keep lovin' Beyonce's fake image? You DO know she's wearing a weave!
Now, I do think it's TOO MUCH that Mel B cut her baby girl's hair. That's mean. That little girl should have a choice, she's not a boy. But, it guess they figure hair will grow back.
Peace, and love your self!

I hate to burst your bubble, but having long hair is not the white man's standard of beauty. My natural hair happens to be wavy and long. If I choose not to cut it, that means I'm trying to be white? Educate yourself!

As a multiracial chick who was cursed with horrible genes for hair, I have no choice BUT to keep my hair short (not buzzed, just ultra short). I can't straighten it, if I braid it it breaks, it's frizzy and hard to manage. I've had more than a few guys say to me "Well, I would date you if you just grew your hair out...". News flash, guys: It's her hair. If you can't see past that to the person, that's just sad...

I personally don't like her cut.. I think it looks bad. She should of just kept the weave but at the end of the day it's her hair and she has to rock it not me so I could careless what she does. It's her look and her life.

Perhaps - she had to cut her hair due to the damage from weave and other chemicals she has worn for years. If she chose to buzz her hair - she is rocking it!

Oh, my Black women w/more natural looking hair as the one they came out of their mother's womb with ... and more like many of their African brethen.
And there is a reason so many Black men don't want to go there??? Nothing shorter than mai! hair! But interestingly enough, many a white men will lovingly walk around w/their Black female partners, child in tow and all. Oh, LSOL!!!
Don't even get me started on the gay angle... license not to get caught up with so much of the hetero crap.
Have a grrrreat day everyone.
