For hair watchers, televised awards shows are the perfect opportunity to gorge on gorgeous hair, see the hottest trends and even get inspired. At this year's highly watched ninth annual BET Awards show, there was plenty to see as sisters came through with all sorts of looks, lengths and styles. DO! Alicia Keys' hair not only looked sophisticated, but the soft, bouncy curls frame her face well -- and it looks healthy! We can't tell if this one is a wig/weave or not, but no matter, it works!

DO! Amber Rose's unique, sexy ceasar is tres chic. The fact that a (black!) woman in the spotlight is wearing her hair this short is nothing short of incredible. The platinum takes it up even another notch of hot!

DO! This is the best Deb Lee has ever looked in our humble opinion. The short sassy cut gives her enough pizzazz for her profession but still is appropriate for her age and standing as a CEO. Bravo Deb! Now about the show...

DON'T! Keri Hilson, as usual, plays with a dramatic two-tone color palette, but in this style, it comes off looking more helmet than hot.

DO! La La Vasquez' hair looks great -- and that dramatic side shave with the razor cuts in it works. Even though that cut is very rocker, she still comes off soft on the red carpet. It's pretty with just enough umph!

DON'T! Not loving this. Keyshia, who has been wearing her hair short for many years, is probably looking for a change, but that part in the middle looks weird. Actually, this is the closest anyone came to Michael Jackson's hair for the evening, so two points there.

DO! LeToya Luckett's hair is pretty classic here -- standard weave, nice cut, bangs. Nothing too dramatic, but nothing too horrible either.

DON'T! We usually LOVE Taraji's hair more than cooked food but tonight it just looked too obviously wiggy. Not natural at all. Between the hair and her black dress, she could be Ruby Dee's contemporary.

DON'T! This hairstyle (or should we say hairstyles?) is just all types of wrong. The bangs are one shade of blonde while that frizzy ponytail has another; it's just kinda sitting there to the side, looking cheap. Just say ONE (hairstyle) mama! Just one!

DO!...and DON'T Not to be going all Cain and Abel here, but the Mary on the left has a banging hairstyle, complete with wispy asymmetric cut , while Mary 2 is obviously having a bad hair day.
