Sherri Shepherd, the bubbly comedian and actress who co-hosts the daily estrogen-heavy gab fest, 'The View' is a wig girl. And she's not ashamed of it.
"It's like an accessory to me, like a hat or a bracelet," the daytime diva told Hair Apparent. "You can become someone else, and then you go home and take that bad baby off!"
Shepherd says that while many in Hollywood sport weaves, she found that the extensions damaged her hair. Also, she's more than happy to carry on a tradition now on its fourth generation in her family.
"I come from a wig family," she explains. "My grandmother had the wig heads, and we used to color the cork face lips in. It was at thing of being five years old and watching her go through this transformation. She would cornrow her hair, she'd pull the wig on, put on that hat with all the fruit and she'd be ready to go."

Shepherd says that her mother wore both an Afro wig and the Cher wig in the '70s and that her niece has been playing with her wigs since she was a kindergartener.
On 'The View' Shepherd works with stylist Lavette Slater who keeps about 30 to 40 wigs on the set. Slater is responsible for her many looks -- from "Amy Winehouse" to short and sassy – and that the wigs go from low end (synthetic) to human-hair wigs and falls which can cost upwards of thousands of dollars. She says the stylist not only purchases "ready to go" wigs, but also cuts and styles them.
Not surprisingly, Shepherd is coming out with her own line of wigs, Diva Belle, this summer, which she promises will be targeted to all ethnicities and pocketbooks.
"We really wanted to be affordable in this economy. I do want to be mindful of the fact that we are in a crunch and so don't want people to go, 'Oh it looks good but I can't afford it,' she says. Diva Belle is not just for your grandmother, she promises.

Well if she loves wig she will love lace front wigs. Lace front wigs represent the latest technology for non-surgical hair replacement in the world today. A lace front wig will be the closest thing to your own real hair or can replace the hair you never had. It is the most natural, most beautiful hair replacement system imaginable today. It is made out of top quality human hair and hand tied into a very sheer lace base one single hair at a time. It should look so natural that it can be virtually undetectable to anyone even at a distance of only inches away. You can wear it for weeks at a time without removing it. You can comb your hair straight back. You can finally have the hair you always dreamed about!
You can get one from http://www.pinklacewigs.com/
And this is the one I am going to get for myself.

I love Sherrie's wigs. Wigs can be really flattering these days. They have all types of colors, texture and styles. And it seems as though everyone is doing it Tyra, Beyonce, Taraji, Monique, Solange, Gabrielle, Jada and on and on. I've been wearing wigs for the past 7 years and it has given my hair a much needed break from Perms and weaves. For a while, I thought my hair growth was slowing down. But since I've been wearing wigs......All MY HAIR has come back. Try online retailers, they're usually cheaper than your neighborhood wig and beauty supply. I like agirlsbestfriendwigs.com. But any of them will do, shop around!

don't you lose your own hair by constantly wearing wigs?

I wear wigs and pony tails too, but they shouldn't make you appear dumb. What a wig does is enhance some of the less fortunate qualities that one doesn't havae. Wigs need to fit your face and your features to bring out some of your qualities and some dark skinned women do not look cute in blonde wigs and wigs of different colors. They need wigs to bring them out to make them look attractive or if they are not more attractive.
Just like when you wear shades or glasses you have to get them to fit your face to enhance your qualities. Sometimes Sherri wears wigs that does not fit her at all. Some people might look good in long ponytails and weaves and some people it makes them look like Chewbaka on crack.
I will pay some good money for a wig in the minute. The highest I have paid for a hair piece is $75. Which brings me to something else, you can get a cheap wig for a little of nothing, but at least get one that looks like something. I have seen some wigs out there that look like they have had about 50 strokes, 16 heartattacks and had to sit on the couch for shock treatment. You just have to know what to look for, it is nothing wrong with wearing wigs. And don't let a man fool you into thinking he doesn't like wigs, he got you didn't he? Enough said.

You go Sherrie. I love wigs too, they allow me a versatility that i can't achieve with my own hair. Wearing wigs have also given me a break from the perm routine. I haven't had a perm in 8 years! I love my natural hair, but it's wigs all day for me.

Wigs are definitely not a sign of a lazy woman. Wigs are no different than weaves. Like Sherri and so many other women in Hollywood have pointed out...there is no way they can get their hair styled every day without risking breakage, shedding and so forth. Wigs are is another alternative that so many women like to have. As long as you're shampooing, conditioning and taking care of your hair underneath the wig it's no one's business if you rock a wig or not. Now I will say that not everyone that wears a wigs does take of their hair but a wig is most definitely not an automatic sign of laziness.

Too bad that she doesn't like her brains. If she likes her brains like she likes her wigs should would be something else, let me tell you. Maybe she needs to give MVP one so he can go and find himself because apparently she has lost hers along the way somewhere.
