Does your hair have trouble holding a style or curl? Does your hair look weighed down and lackluster after a few days? Here are a few tips that can help you achieve thicker, fuller, longer lasting hair!1. Wash with a Protein Based Shampoo
A protein based shampoo like Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair, will add thickness and luster to the hair. Just make sure to only lather once as this shampoo can be a bit stripping. Follow with a moisturizing conditioner to provide your hair with the right amount of moisture and protein.
2. Work with Air
Before heading out for the day, flip your head over to give your roots an instant lift. Finger comb or smooth hair back into place and you are ready to go!
3. Less is More
If your hair tends to get greasy easily, try using less product throughout the week. I typically only use one product, a light moisturizer, every day. Anything additional will sit on the hair, making it look greasy and dirty within a few days.
4. Avoid Stick Straight
If you relax, avoid relaxing bone strait. Instead, try texlaxing to add more texture and fullness to the hair. If you are natural, avoiding pressing or flatironing the hair stick straight.
When the roots are stick straight, oils from the scalp have an easier time sliding down the hair shaft. When there is texture at the roots, they have to travel along a "texture rollercoaster" of curves or spirals. If you notice, when you flat iron your hair, it will seem to become lifeless and dirty a lot sooner than if your hair was roller set or braided.
Therefore, it is advantageous to leave a little texture at the roots. If you flat iron, start straightening a few inches below the roots. Not only will your style last longer, it will look thicker and healthier.
5. Use a Root Lifter
Before styling, always work with a root lifter like Paul Mitchell Extra Body Root Lifter to create longer lasting volume. Spritz onto the roots and then style as usual.
You can also use it as an instant root booster during the week. Just spritz on dry roots, flip over your head and smooth hair back into place.
I hope this helps! For more tips and techniques, you can find me at www.healthytextures.com.

I hate wigs and hair weaves, Black women don't like themselves, so they burn, or put chemicals, or wear wigs and weaves, like Karen Brown the prostitute of Yeadon, to try to be like a white girl. When I see a girl with fake stupid looking hair I look from the face down, NOT the hair... Learn from Michelle Obama.
