Although lace front wigs are far from new in the entertainment industry; the trend has just recently become popular among us common folk. Fortunately over time, custom lace front wigs (hair additions that make your hairline seamless) that once cost close upwards of $4,000 or more are now priced more "affordably" in the hundred dollar price range.
However, for those who are willing to dish out the big bucks for these hair ensembles, you should be aware of the tedious process.
Should you use tape or glue? Should you braid your hair or wear a wig cap? Can you do it yourself? After scouring the web for how-to videos, we learned the answer to that last question is YES! Here are two helpful Do-it-Yourself video clips on applying a lace front wig. The process may be challenging but whoever said beauty came easy was clearly lying! Are you up for the challenge? If so, good luck!2008 Deaths

Plz be sure you're not being hypocritical before you come online acting all holier than thou. Almost no one wears their hair natural. So if you have straightened, curled, relaxed or permed your hair ever in your life...which I bet you have. Plz sit down.

Do NOT be fooled. I have been making and wearing these units for 5 years now and it is NOT that simple. I am familiar with the woman in the vid and she has been doing it a long time. You cannot just order a unit online and pop it on yourself when you get it and go. Moreover, your $199 internet special will look nothing like beyawnces or Tyra Banks. They spend thousands per unit with some costing 25k. You dont have to spend nearly that much to look good I just think it is unfair to give women the wrong impression. It takes time and patience coupled with a quality unit to get a natural effect with a good long hold time. Just be careful. I made every mistake in the beginning.

I just bought a full lace wig and the glue and tape is supposed to be 3-6 weeks. NOT!!
I sweat at night and I find the wig loose after 2 days. I can just imagine during the summer.

Wow ......why can't we black folks use our own hair instead of always trying to alter ourselves!!!! I must say this is very nice and the wig looks great and the lace hair line procedure is very well thought out and very neat.

The front lace wig looks really good on the model, and it also looks natural, which is always important. My only complaint about that video is the instructor. It sounds like she is trying to sound really professional. It almost sounds like she is reading a script, and it does not come off as natural. Someone please coach her for the next video.
