I remember back in the day, my mom would apply grease and water to our hair, tear long strip pieces from a brown paper bag, twist and roll each section of all of my sister's hair. The next morning, our curls would be looking "Tight" and "Right". That is if you had a "Perm". Now, far as applying the paper on natural hair, your hair will have that "FRIZY TIGHT AFFECT". I won't forget, it was picture day at school, and the night before my mom rolled my hair with the paper. My hair was thick and long and I looked like a "FRIZZED OUT POODLE". It's not that we didn't have any money at the time but to my mother was an experiment. For good results, try on "Perm Hair". The "Scrap Fabric" above used might be much comfortable to use than paper, though? My youngest sister still rolls paper till this day.
As far as conditioner's for your hair (bought by store), I use "African's Best Mayonnaise". I add 1 egg sometimes to the mayonnaise conditioner, wrap my hair, and set for 30 minutes and rinse out. It gets the job DONE! Hair be so manageable! About the store bought "Mayonnaise", I tried and left a vinegar smell to my hair. I prefer the "African's Best" mayonnaise conditioner. "African's Best" also, has Extra-Virgin Creme for leave in condition. It smells good and works really good for maintaining your hair everyday.
Good tips and ideas, I will try since hair products can be very expensive.

Do you add the honey after washing and just leave it in your hair, then style as usual?

This is the second time I'm hearing about honey. I'll definitely try it out. As for the fabric wraps, somebodys gonna hafta give a demonstration on it...
Saran wrap is just like using a plastic bag for a cap... Just make sure its the clear kind w/ NO color or make sure the bag has no words on it. I had to find somethin' out the hard way.
