Results:
I am about 16 weeks post relaxer. I used this product for a co-wash a few days ago. I thoroughly rinsed my hair and applied the conditioner like a shampoo, working it into my scalp and roots. I let it sit as I lathered and then rinsed the product out of my hair. I lightly towel-dried, applied my moisturizer and serum and did a two-braid airdry. Click here for a tutorial!
Positive:
It's a nice thick emollient conditioner. It spread nice and evenly and smelled great. My hair detangled nicely in the shower.
Negative:
Even after applying my moisturizer and serum, my hair was pretty difficult to detangle. When my hair was dry, it didn't feel particularly soft or look very shiny or silky. My new growth was not soft either.
Overall: Eh, it's ok but I would recommend VO5 Strawberries and Cream over this conditioner.

"Even after applying my moisturizer and serum, my hair was pretty difficult to detangle. When my hair was dry, it didn't feel particularly soft or look very shiny or silky. My new growth was not soft either".......(MY COMMENT)--- Well DUH, of course after using a hair product from the "Suave" family it would be difficult to detangle your hair, thats expected!, these products are fragrantful and thats all...."Suave" wasn't made for ethnic/kinky/curly/nappy/unruly/whatever you want to call it type of hair....... Next time just take that same $1.19 that was uses for pruchasing a "Suave" product and buy the V05 Strawberries and Cream Conditioner, now this gives you better results for the affordalbe price tag ;)

I agree with Candy a 100%. How did you think Suave was going to work on your hair. Now, I needed a laugh. The Alberto VO5 is cheaper and will work better. I guess next think you will try is a "Perm" that is not FUBU style. You know For us By us. lol..

Its a common misconception that certain products are not going to work for our hair. There are tons of "white products", including Suave, that are working just fine for women of color.

You neeed to have a certain grade of hair for this to work or get a perm and then try it! It is not a miracle conditioner!

Of course it didn't work. My husband is white and he uses Suave, has two bottles of it that are different kinds. I never thought to use it on my hair ever, it never crossed my mind. Use products that are made for Black hair. I use Motions products and have been very satisfied with them. Their creme moisterizer is the best, as was stated in Allure magazine some years ago, but it is still the best for me.

I cant beleive black folks dont know better than to try to use products created for caucasion hair on ethnic hair! This is a no brainer! And the list of chemical ingredients on those products is frightening too. Blacks need to use products that contain natural butters and oils for conditioning their hair whereas whites dont need these types of leave in moisturizers. There are natural products out there that not only can condition relaxed and natural hair but also can cause hair growth with the use of herbs. I ONLY use natural products on my and my familys hair because I dont want to use chemicals that close to my brain. Those chemicals have been proven to seep through the skin which is scary to me. All products that claim to be natural are NOT really natural so be careful about what you buy. I use the Mineral Indulgence hair care line ( I love the Napturally Sulfate Free shampoo because it tingles from the herbs in it) and my hair is so soft and conditioned that I dont even have to use oils as much. My hair is in transisition and is thick and long but people think I am wearing a weave most of the time because it is kinky but at the same time you can run your fingers through it and it is soft and shiny. My daughter has a relaxer and her hair is now down her back because it doesnt break off since she uses their products too. Her favorite is Kiwi Coconut Hair Smoothie and the She and Mango Butter Conditioning Mask. Everybody should seriously reconsider using products that contain chemicals and switch to something made for ethnic hair and is healthy at the same time.Peace

wow i disagree. just cause it is for white people, does not mean it is bad for ethinic hair.
i'am starting to think ethnic products have stuff that does not really treat your hair, why would our hair not be getting stronger or stop breaking. Also the stuff they have in some ethnic products are not good for our hair and have been clogging our hair folicals for years like mineral oil, castor oil. the grease. think about it it is all about money also not all african american products are mad by african american. who seriously thought to put mineral oil in our products? just cause it will give more shelf time. just cause your hair feels good when you rinse conditioner out does not mean that it is actually doing good for your hair you know.
