So, a lot of women would love to take better care of their hair but simply don't have the time. Between work, taking care of the kids and/or the millions of other projects and errands, there is very little time to have a hair regimen. Here are a few tips to help you take care of your hair on a serious time budget.1. Deep Condition First
We all know that deep conditioning is great for textured hair. But, it can be time consuming to hop in and out of the shower. So, instead, deep condition before you wash. Apply your conditioner to dry hair and let sit overnight or for at least 20 minutes before you hop in the shower. Then, wash and use a small amount of the same conditioner just for detangling purposes. Skeptical? Try it out one night, you might be surprised how moisturized and strong your hair will feel after you wash.
2. Opt for Styles that Dry Overnight
If you are super busy, start the process and let dry overnight. For instance, wash your hair and plait in braids or twists. In the morning, undo braids (hair will be 70% dry) and blow dry smooth on medium. Or, roller set hair on satin foam rollers and let dry overnight. If still damp, sit under dryer for 20 minutes to finish drying. Twenty minutes under the dryer is a lot better than fifty minutes start to finish. Drying overnight is a great way to cut down on styling time and its healthier for the hair in the long run.
3. Have a Hair Party
Sounds silly but have a hair party. Invite your friends over and style each other's hair over gossip and cocktails. It's a very cost-effective way to get a nice wash and set or blow out while catching up with friends. It's also a great way to try out and practice new styles and techniques and swap products and tips.
4. Involve Your Kids
As you style your children's hair, get them involved. Have them braid a section or take a few moments to educate them on proper styling. As they start learning, they may start to take an active role on wash day. Even the smallest hands can help the process move quicker.
5. Do It In Sections
You don't always need to do your hair all at one sitting. Instead, try styling your hair in sections. For instance, wash your hair and slick back into a bun to air-dry while you run errands. When you have more time and your hair is dry, flat-iron for a sleek look. Or, blow dry your hair and finish paying the bills or straightening up the house. Flat iron or curl later on in the day when you have more time and energy. The main point here is to make "hair day" seem less like a monumental event.

As a hairstylist for 15 years i totally disagree with your tip of over night drying--Over night drying tends to make your hair dry and brittle. If you have color treated hair I would definitely not recommend that. Sitting under a hood dryer is the best for our hair. I dont suggest hand blow drying for my clients but over night drying is one I dont suggest either. However, I do like the idea of getting the kids involved because it prepares them to take an interest in their personal appearance and it makes it easier for the parent.

If I go to sleep with my hair wet, I'll wake up looking like I stuck my finger in an electric socket!

I set my hair on rollers and let it dry overnight. It comes out great! I use a little oil and my fingers to seperate the curls. Looks and feels great and lasts for days.

Thank you for the hair tips. I just wanted to say that I've had great success with the Dr. Miracles products. I had balding spots in my hair and I've been using the products for the last eight weeks and my hair is growing like crazy. It's a little expensive. But hey, it works!

Your tip works for my hair. It is a lot stronger. My hair is growing long. Before my hair was hard to comb out after I wash it. Thank you

AVOID SHELDEEZ HAIR SALON in VA!!! They provided HORRIBLE service - their lead stylist Angela (also the manager)is catty, gossipy, slow, unprofessional, and her behavior is TOTALLY supported by Arthur Robinson(hmmm, wonder why...)- who, when I complained, told me "Do what you gotta do!" - So I am, I'm trying to warn us - all that advertises on TV isn't gold (in this case, Sheldeez is "fool's gold"
- looks good, but worth nothing.... Don't say you weren't warned

I don't understand why letting your hair dry overnight is worst than hood drying. I wash my hair at night, apply serum, and wrap it with neck strips. My hair is at it's best when I do it this way versus blow drying and hood drying. I know a few other women who hair isn't as long but they do the same, but instead of wraping, they comb it down and use neck strips or a satin scarf and their hair looks more that professionally done.
