Could someone please tell me why there are photographs of Black women wearing their hair naturally mixed with photographs of Black wearing their hair some as far back as 1974: Pam Grier?
You mean to tell me you couldn't find at least 21 Black women who are currently wearing their hair naturally? You could have at least included Robin Roberts of Good Morning America for one showing a media icon, and acoustic bass sensation Esperanza Spaldin currently sporting the hair style.

In the day when Pan Grier, wore her hair in it's natuaral form, many women, went to the beauty salon, not to mention did their own hair. This is a time of fast living. Today women, some women, don't have the time...won't take the time to do teir own hair. In these fast times, alot of women got lazy. It's weaves, wigs, extensions and braids. Let's get back to basic's ladies,in between those hairdo's, take a week or two...give that hair a rest..Naturally.

BLACK WOMEN used to be so fine. What in the hell has happened? The wild woman hair, the unreal hair, the big fat azzes.
I see women in their forties more fashionable and fit than these younger women. Let go of the chicken bone, my young and dumb and unattractive sistas.

Black women who wear natural hair are bringing acceptance to the world that natural hair is "okay." Embracing what has been given to us by nature will show the world that, Kinky,Nappy, coiled hair is as natural to black people as straight hair is to white people. To know that it can be all that you want it to be. If you had no hair how would feel?

It's so sad that our people can't accept the texture of our hair and want to continue to caucasian-nize it; no matter if they realize it or not...We continue to use excuses like it's hard to manage because we see those white chicks with the limp, blowing in the wind hair...So sad. We're the only people on this earth with the most unique, versatile hair and yet we continue to damage it with self- hatred.

Black women are beautiful. Many have stopped evolving beyond that plantation mentality of self-hatred and our brothers no longer have standards. Love yourself my sistahs. Put the cell phones down, start walking, riding a bike, go dancing. Ease up on the chemicals and weaves for your hair. Our hair is so beautiful and unique. I personally prefer the very, very, close natural and now that my hair is silver (which I refuse to color) I have a sophisticated timeless look that attracts positive attention from my brothers and sistahs. Peace.

Black women are beautiful period. Whether we decide to wear our hair straight, curly, weaved, or otherwise. It is about knowing yourself, loving your culture and not giving a damn about what other people think. Continue keeping it real..all my beautiful balck women.

I like my natural hair, there are may different styles and shapes of an afro. Finding the right product for your afro is key, I like my afro curly. I think I look younger and better with my natural hair and I'm 44, I love it.
