Another great thing to get is Burts Bees Avocado butter pre-wash at any CVS drugstore. It makes the hair soft and healthy when used before shampooing.
Or you can just go to a grocery store and get some avocado fresh, mash it up with some egg and put that in your hair before washing. It is really a great conditioner.
I love to use the cholesteral from Queen Helene every two washes. But it is not good to get it on your scalp because it causes dandruff. Just on the hair will do.
When using a shampoo, only put it on your scalp, not on your hair. I prefer to only shampoo every three washes and instead regularly wash with a conditioner.

I think all of the suggested products sound great, but I also wanted to add that your hair also reflects what is going on inside you. When I'm stressed at work and most recently the loss of a loved one my hair became flat and dull with breakage. What I'm trying to say is your hair is a great indicator of your health. I'm looking into detoxifying my body plus trying to eat healthier.

I started using the ApHOGEE products about a month ago and I love them, they are inexpensive and work great. I love the two step protein treatment which is used every 6 weeks it leaves the hair hard as a rock until you rinse it out and follow up with the balancing moisturizer it leaves your hair silky and smooth
