Finally, Chaka Khan's first album in over 10 years has arrived - FUNK THIS! Keeping true to her burnt-red glamorous hairstyle, Chaka absolutely brings big waves and curly reddish-FROs back to life in her live performances! Chaka is shown here, singing at the 2007 'Angel Ball' presented by the G & P Foundation-- founded by Denise Rich to benefit a cure for Leukemia.

FUNK THIS! delivers traditional funky, soulful and R & B tunes with a modern upbeat twist-- the music we all love to hear from Chaka. The FUNK THIS! cd cover also features the DIVA with dark reddish-brown soft curls under a velvet hat.

Check out my favorite single, 'ANGEL', written by her majesty, Ms. Khan. She collaborated with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the power house producing team throughout most of Janet Jackson's career. I got a chance to see Chaka perform live at the Norfolk Westbury Music Theater in Long Island, just a few weeks ago. I can definitely testify - Ms. Khan's voice is back in tip top shape--stronger than ever. She sang and testified about her drug abuse and the spirit's presence that saved her life in this awesome and tearful performance at Westbury.
Chaka will also take on the role of Ms. Sophia with Be Be Winans (Harpo) in the Broadway production of 'The Color Purple', January 2008. Ms. Chaka Khan is Hair Apparent's original-- 'I'm Every Curly Fro Woman'.

Chaka I have been following you since the 70's and you are still a Diva no matter how you wear it. As a matter of fact since the days of Rufus, you have worn your hair the same way. As long as you keep the voice and the crowd rockin... don't change a thing. I am an ole skool fan to the death......

Long live the Queen of Funk! She put the D in Diva, but let's give props to those before her. It's not a long list. Can you say "Aretha?" Chaka is right behind Aretha and standing beside Diana Ross. These ladies were so far ahead of their time, there wasn't a thing called "Funk" when they made their marks. Chaka and George Clinton now that's funky! Giving props when it matters is like giving roses. I don't talk about you, if I don't have love for ya! I didn't forget about all the others. This was Chaka's time.

God bless you Chaka however I have never seen you behind anyone named in previous comments. You've held your own. Just remember God is still on his thrown and Jesus is a healer even if the world don't believe it. Through drugs or any other demon that tries to over take us you made the right decision. Kept using your gift God gave to you and I'll keep listening. I am ol School. God bless.

I am so happy to hear that my girl has a new album or CD as they are now. I have always considered Chaka to be the best of the best. I remember when she did Bobby Womack's Stop On By. She did it better than he did. Chaka to me has always been an original. Stevie Wonder and Chaka voices have always reminded me of one another. Would be interested in hearing them do something.

Chaka made me feel things, foreign yet familiar
With her soulful voice, a natural born superstar
With a diva personality, when I heard Chaka sing
My young heart took flight, Chaka made me hear things with her music. Things that I couldn’t see with sight
Chaka sang it funky, jazzy and bluesy. I knew when I heard Chaka sing the music world had found the real thing. Chaka’s dancing, her song, and style, exclusively Chaka. “Ask Rufus” back cover profile, lyrical and spiritual. Chaka Khan was fire at dawn and lightening at night! Her brown skin, smooth as melting caramel
Her eyes, her hair, her lips, it all was there
Chaka made me believe that there would be better days
Chaka was every woman; Chaka Khan is every woman!
Two thousand five; see the tear in Chaka’s eye
A living legend peers from behind a gold wired veil
Defying time and one track musical minds
Chaka sings jazz, blues, hip hop, be bop, and pop
Chaka’ is sassy, sultry, sensuous, and classy.
With every note, from heart and throat, Chaka made that clear. Distinctively, no other songstress has ever came near Chaka’s sound is singular There is only one Chaka!
What a voice so earthy and raw! Yet with those high notes, Chaka was like a rocket to the stars
Chaka Khan an original. Posing sensuously on a sofa in the shape of a smile; she was the seventies, fun and youth. Words of reflection, self and truth
From Rags to Rufus, wearing jeans
On the second album cover with photos black and whites
Chaka wore long black dresses and furs, that sexy red dress with a straw hat on her head
The sparkle of blue sequins’ glare singing “Take the A Train” while the trumpets blare
Chaka sang “Move me no mountain, turn me no tide, swim me no ocean, long deep and wide” Oh, Chaka, Yes, we loved what we felt! When she sang “Stranger to Love”,
Chaka touched me in a way that had never been done
The greatest thing about this sincere yarn, for me, Chaka Khan, remains number one!
Chaka Khan is a Classic, classy but, ever so ageless.
Chaka is a living legend whose music will live forever in our hearts. When I hear Chaka’s voice, my heart soars, and then, at times Chaka’s voice is so gripping, I even forget to breathe.

when I tell a black woman sporting long curly hair, brown skin, and round lucious lips; "you look like Chaka Khan" they ALWAYS smile.
